Rosalie is said to be very vain. She has had people admiring her since she was 12, and she hates anyone that doesn't notice her. Simply seeing her reflection in a glass window will cause her to mull over herself for a good twenty minutes.

Rose loves cars. She spends a great deal of time fixing them, and is better at it then anyone else. She would die if anyone dared hurt her red BMW. As books were an escape for Bella growing up, cars were Rosalie's escape. She could go to them and find peace.

Rosalie wouldn't be caught dead looking anything less than perfect, which is hardly a challenge for her. She wears the best clothes, fixes her hair the best, has the best nails...the list goes on. You can’t find a flaw in Rose's body, and she loves that. Her beauty is another thing that makes her feel better when her life has gotten so awful. At least she was pretty.

Rosalie is very misunderstood. People think she's just another bitchy blond, but she's been through a lot. She pretends to be as shallow and unaware about the world as people assume, but she's really not. Emmett is probably the only one that's seen her other side.

thestory|Rosalie was born in 1915 in Rochester, New York, and she was born beautiful. And we're not just talking pretty. We're talking so beautiful you can barely look at her. Her parents loved it, as they saw it as a way to advance on the social ladder. It worked, and Rosalie was to marry a member if the King Family, who were very rich. Rose loved to be seen on his arm, and he liked that too. They were supposed to have the best wedding, and it felt like a fairy tail. Rosalie loved children, and her best friend Vera had a son named Henry. She wanted a baby too, but with a better house than Vera had. One day she visited Vera and noticed the way her husband seemed to really care about her, but shook the thought off. Her life was much better than Vera, who'd married a carpenter, surely. One day on her way back from Vera's she ran into Royce, her fiancée, and some friends. They were drunk, and they raped her. She was left for dead, and then Carlisle found her.

He brought her in the family for Edward, but it never worked out between them. Rosalie did not want to be a vampire, but Carlisle couldn't just let her die. When she awoke into her new life, she hated it. Rosalie wanted children, which is impossible for vampires. It was also worse for her because she was on the brink of everything she wanted when her life was taken from her. Rosalie's record is almost as clean as Carlisle's. She only killed the humans that raped her, and she didn't drink there blood. She saved Royce for last, hoping he'd realize what was coming for him. He did, and she was forced to kill two guards as well. It's amazing she was able to keep herself from drinking them. She hated them that much.

Rosalie hated life for a while, until she found Emmett three years later being mauled by a bear. Amazingly she was able to restrain herself until she made it back to Carlisle, who turned Emmett. They fell in love, and life was starting to be a little more bearable. Rose had someone to live for.

Life with the Cullen's wasn't too bad. Emmett was the one everyone loved, while Rose was the annoying moody one. Having everyone hate her has made her more hard and cold. She's forced herself not to feel after everything she's been through.

When Edward first found Bella, Rose disliked her out of jealously. Rosalie was used to everyone admiring her, but Edward did not. Also, Bella had everything she wanted and was ready to give it all up to be with Edward. When Alice saw Bella jump off the cliff, it was Rosalie that passed on the message to Bella.

Rose is the only reason Nessie survived. She protected Bella for the baby's sake, and because Bella chose to save it, Rose liked her a little more. Rosalie hates the shape shifters. When the Voultri came, Rose spent all her time with her love, Emmett.

Rosalie searched through the forest, letting her senses guide her. All her thoughts and memories were locked down in this moment, over ridden by something more powerful. Rose smelled the faintest trace of a mountain lion far to the East, and was headed in that direction, when she caught the scent of something better.
It hit her like the sudden impact of a bus would hit a human, no time to think, no time to react. Just time to follow through. She headed in the right direction without a thought, running at full speed. Rosalie was there in seconds, of course, and she studied her surroundings. A bear was crouched over a human, a man judging by the size of his legs. Rose could take the bear down in seconds, and then the fresh human would be hers. An instinctive growl slid through her teeth, and the bear turned.
When he moved, the human below him was suddenly visible. Rose's thoughts and, more importantly, her memories, came rushing back. Little Vera's Henry was lying before me.
It took only a second to realize that the man was not indeed Henry, he was much too old. But the curls were so similar, the face just as striking and untroubled-even in pain.
She didn't pause to think, just snapped the bear's neck quickly and lifted the man into her arms. He was not heavy, but the scent was over-powering. Almost enough to make her kill him.
Rose fixed the face of her old friend’s son firmly behind her eyelids, willing herself to think of him and him only. She had to save this man. There was no other choice.

The journey back to Carlisle was maddening. At several points she was sure she would never make it. Rosalie had considered changing him herself, but was not at all sure she had the restraint. She was having enough trouble keeping herself from killing him as it was.
Rose was also concerned the man would die before she could even get him back. He had been seriously injured. Wouldn't that be just her luck, go through all this so save him and he not even make it.

Rosalie burst through the door of her home, not even pausing to consider what a mess she was. Carlisle was up in an instant, running toward them. "Rosalie what have you done!" he asked, astonished. Before he let his imagination get to out of hand she said "I found him, he was mauled by a bear. I saved him. Now stop asking questions and fix him!"
Carlisle quickly complied as Esme and Edward backed out the door before they attacked him themselves.
When they were sure he would be saved, Rose sat next to him, holding his hand as each scream made her wince. She could remember all too clearly what the pain felt like. No one asked questions, figuring they'd wait until the man was awake.
Into the second day, Rose overheard a conversation. "So what so you think will happen?" Esme asked. "I don't know. He might go off on his own. That's always a possibility." Carlisle answered tiredly. What? go off on his own? After all Rosalie had went through to save him? No! He wasn't going anywhere. He was hers.
